Summer Bucket List 2016 From The Scorching Heat In Oklahoma!

Summer has been so busy I've neglected my poor little blog. We've been busy crossing things off our summer bucket list, gathering things for our Nature Pal Exchange, and just having the best summer ever....until the heat warnings set in. Now we are done until fall .. lol. Not really, well maybe.

If you've never done a Nature Pal Exchange, you should... here is the website with more info or their Instagram. We were paired with a family in California and can't wait to get our package! Here are a few things we collected.

We dug for Crystals here. We've been before and it's so much fun, but this time was a little windy...ok, a lot windy and shirts were flying up, buckets were lost in the wind... everyone had salt and wind burns.. but good times were had!

Then we went to Sulphur... to the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. One of our favorite places to go. The water is cold, but it is beautiful!! You can read more about it here.

We've enjoyed the dollar movies every week, snow cones, a new puppy named Murphy, 4th of July and a Mexican Fiesta on my birthday!
Stuffed Bacon Wrapped Jalapenos.. YUM

Cookies by Oklahoma Cookie Jar

Smore Cones

Our Fiesta.. SO GOOD

Now we are hiding from the heat, as much as we can.. lot's of Popsicle's, water, and AC. Now to get ready for the school year, we homeschool but we have joined a co-op for the first time ever...pretty exciting!! So many changes and things to announce... coming soon!

Shark Week Fun

In honor of the upcoming Shark Week which starts Sunday, June 26, I thought I would put together a few ideas I've found to host a kids Shark themed party.

For all the details of Shark Week click here.

I designed this invite for my grandson, he hasn't even experienced Shark Week yet, but he will this year!
Coordinating Party Decor to be added soon!

This Pool Noodle Shark by Deirdre, blogger at jdaniel4smom could be made ahead for decoration, a fun craft for the kids at the party, or something fun to do as a family.

This is one of my favorites...Fun and easy to make, and then you get to eat it! Find the recipe at the Popsicle Blog

So many cute cake ideas on Pinterest

For the photo booth must haves.....this one from Oriental Trading Company looks great or if you're crafty,  you could DIY one

I've created a Pinterest Board just for this theme, you can find so many more great ideas here

Oriental Trading Company has a ton of fun Shark themed items here

The possibilities are endless for this theme, it can be fun for the younger kids, or a little more realistic and "scary" for the big kids. If you've hosted a Shark Party, feel free to share in the comments!

Last Minute Father's Day Gift Ideas

For the fisherman dad or Grandpa, the lineman, Police Officer, even Batman ;-) ... I've got you covered for Father's Day gift ideas, and if I don't, custom orders are always welcome and will be back to you same day. Just in time to print and frame for Father's Day!

A Soft Place to Land

This is our MaMa Bertha (or MawMaw depending on how you spell it). Mom of 2, Grandma to 4, Great grandma to 9, and Great Great to 7 (I probably missed someone and will be corrected by one of my kids later) :-)
Here she is making yet another generation smile and feel all the MaMa B love

She is 90 years young, and the most kind, giving, and loving woman you will ever meet. She has a standing weekly appointment at the beauty shop, smells like clean cotton and flowers, and you could eat off the floors in her cute little house. This strong, beautiful woman, is my dads mom. We lost my dad on June 16, 2007 to congestive heart failure and we all lost a piece of our heart that day. But my Mama, lost a piece of her, I cannot imagine losing a child. But she lives for us, her family, for her daughter, her grands, her great grands, and the great great grands and her many friends. She lights up when any of us walk into a room. She loves us with everything she has, and she shows it. Her love is unconditional, and we all know we can call or visit anytime and she always knows what to say to make everything alright. She makes all of us caramel apples every Halloween, and peanut brittle at Christmas. She called me the other day, just to tell me how proud she was of me and how talented she thinks I am. So if I never sell another thing in my Etsy doesnt matter, because Mama is proud of me. She sends hand written thank you cards for every gift or kind gesture given or done for her. She wants everyone to know how much she genuinely appreciates whatever you do for her, big or small. She is the reason I love so deeply, and the reason my family means everything to me. She is our soft place to land....if only everyone had a Mama B.the world would surely be a much better place.

Beauty in the Midst of Chaos ~ How Does She Do It?

My first born, the oldest of 5 and now the mom of 6 beautiful girls.

Beautiful and pregnant with her last.

She is beautiful, inside and out. When she is your friend, she is your friend for life...but do not ever underestimate her kindness as a weakness or try and take advantage of her. She's been through a lot. A product of divorce (we divorced when she was 6 and her sister was 4)and then when I remarried and she became the oldest of 5 in a blended family. She held me and her brothers and sisters when I lost my dad and couldn't breathe let alone take care of anyone. Then I held her last summer, when way too soon she lost hers to suicide. But she doesn't really let you hold her for long, she wiped away her tears and charged ahead trying to process what he had done, and with her sister, planned his memorial service.. all while trying to explain to her girls where their Poppa went. Her strength as a mom, as a wife, and as a woman, amazes me daily. She married her high school sweetheart and if you had asked me then, I would have said they wouldn't make it, the odds were against them from the start. But what do I know... look at them now, they are blessed beyond measure. He is a lineman and works so hard for them, they have 6 beautiful girls and are saving to build their dream house and are on their way to building a farm with animals and girls all over the place! It's a messy, loud, beautiful life she has fought hard for and I am so very proud of her. I don't tell her this often enough, so I'm telling her now for the world to see. When she reads this she will know that I wrote it through tears, because it's what I do. I love you so much Chelsi Dawn and your big ol' party of 8.
Peacock, Party of 8
Mommy time, loving on baby #6

I cry every time I hear this song, and it makes me think of them and what they've built together. For some reason the video isn't showing up... I'll work on that, in the meantime I'll include the link... It's Dan & Shay - From the Ground Up

Summer Fun..checking off the Summer Bucket List 2016

A few posts back I shared our Summer Bucket List ... 100 super fun things to do with my kids and grand kids this summer. We started with a trip to the Jasmine Moran Children's Museum in Seminole Oklahoma.

We've been before, but it never gets old. Now with a family membership, we can go more often! The kids can, and do, spend hours in there. Nothing better for kids than hands on fun... and that's what Jasmine Moran is all about.
